Kitting Service Classic Kits: Rare LEGO Kits Part 2

At Ohio Valley Goodwill, we love kits. We love them so much that last week we looked at five of the rarest LEGO kits out there. This week, in honor of the holidays, we’re serving up five MORE of the world’s rarest LEGO kits, which take us from main street all the way to the stars!

Main Street

The original Main Street LEGO set was released in 1980, and was so popular that it was re-released in 2003. At 622 pieces, collectors get everything they need to recreate life on Main Street U.S.A. The original 1980 Main Street kit will set you back anywhere from $100-$300, depending on condition.

Custom Car Garage

The Custom Car Garage set was designed by LEGO fans using the LEGO Digital Designer. Though it came out in 2008, the cool cars included made it so popular that it rapidly became among the rarest of kits. This was the last kit made in the LEGO Factory series, and can be yours for about $300.

TTX Intermodal Double Stack Car

Everyone loves trains, and LEGO train models are no exception. The TTX Intermodal Double Stack Car can even be combined with other LEGO train sets in the series to form larger locomotives. Though it’s just 366 pieces, collectors can pick up this rare set for about $200.

NBA Basketball Teams

This set is the first one featured in our series that contains minifigures only, and is so rare that it can be difficult to find a complete set still in the box. You can get five minifigures, NBA team stickers, and a basketball piece for around $50.
