Ohio Valley Goodwill has a great reputation for providing the most reliable outsourced assembly service in Cincinnati. But, there are some jobs so mind-bogglingly massive that they require a bit more than we can provide. The production of modern airliners is one such job, and the facilities created to do it are truly marvelous.
The Guinness Book of World Records lists the Boeing Everett Factory as the world’s largest factory by volume. Some of the world’s most iconic aircraft have been assembled inside the facility, including the 747 and the 787 “Dreamliner.” Building some of the largest vehicles in the world takes a lot of space. In fact, the Everett Factory is so large that it has been known to generate its own weather.
As large as the plant was when it was designed in 1966, the facility had to be made even larger to accommodate the aircraft size and volume demanded by modern airlines. It was expanded to double its size in 1993, at a cost of $1.5 billion dollars. Check out the video below to see inside Boeing’s production process at the Everett Factory.
Pretty cool right? While the experts at Goodwill B2B have not built any 787s, we are the Cincinnati’s preferred source for outsourced assembly services. Why? The same reason we wrote this blog post; we just love industrial assembly. Contact the B2B team today to learn what we can do for your business.
