been responsibly recycled through Goodwill since the partnership with Dell started in Texas in 2004.

Ohio Valley Goodwill is excited to be one of the newest members of the Dell Reconnect program in the Greater Cincinnati area. The Dell and Goodwill partnership was formed because Goodwill has a long-standing reputation as an entrepreneurial leader, environmental pioneer and social innovator of the "reduce, reuse, repurpose" movement. The Goodwill/Dell Reconnect partnership will offer donors FREE computer recycling at all Greater Cincinnati retail and donation locations as well as help to raise consumer awareness about the importance of responsibly recycling used computers. Donors may request a receipt at the time of their donation to receive a tax deduction. The Dell Reconnect program is a win-win for everyone. It benefits the environment, the community and the individuals that Goodwill serves. For more information about the Dell Reconnect program, please visit www.dellreconnect.com or www.cincinnatigoodwill.org/donate for a list of donation locations. From Ohio Valley Goodwill's Blog on August 25th, 2010

Ohio Valley Goodwill was honored to be featured on the “Newsmakers” program hosted by Dan Hurley on Local 12 on Sunday, August 22nd. Goodwill Grant Writer, Dick Oestreich, was Hurley’s guest on the broadcast which focused on the organization’s mission as well as its recent CARF accreditation. The show opened with one of Goodwill’s newest mission videos as well as footage from its recent success showcase starring Ms. Stephanie Mitchell, who is employed in the community and supported by Goodwill.

While the organization’s history and mission were covered in some detail, the discussion centered primarily on Ohio Valley Goodwill’s recent CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) audit outcomes report. This is the third consecutive triennial CARF survey which has resulted in a perfect outcome for the organization, placing it in the top 3% of accredited agenices nation-wide.

“We are very proud of our history of service to people with disabilities in the Greater Cincinnati area and look forward to continuing to expand the scope of those programs in response to community need,” commented Oestreich during the interview. “Goodwill’s Public Information Officer Featured on WCPO!”

From Ohio Valley Goodwill's Blog on March 25th, 2010

Michael Flannery, OVGI Public Information Officer

On Sunday, March 21st, Goodwill’s Public Information Officer, Michael Flannery, was a guest on WCPO’s “Good Morning Tri-State,” hosted by Jenell Walton. Among the many topics discussed was Ohio Valley Goodwill’s recent recognition by GreatNonprofits as one of the top-rated employment and training centers in the country serving individuals with disabilities as well as our nation’s veterans. Flannery also stressed the urgent need for donations to support Goodwill’s on-going mission.

This was a home-coming of sorts for Flannery as he was a reporter at WCPO for more than 13 years before coming to Ohio Valley Goodwill.

“I was thrilled to have the opportunity to talk with Jenell and brag about the work that Goodwill does for our community” said Flannery. “I was happy to inform WCPO viewers of how Goodwill works to help people with disabilities and why their donations are so critical,” added Flannery.

Ohio Valley Goodwill is grateful to “Good Morning Tri-State” and WCPO for their assistance in sharing Goodwill’s important mission of service to the Greater Cincinnati community.
